Technology festival held at Titumir College

A special program on technology was held at the Government Titumir College of the capital in order to acquire skills facing the challenges of the 21st century. The ‘Techmania 1.0’ organized by Titumir College IT Society started at nine in the morning and ended at five in the afternoon at Shahid Barkat Auditorium of the college on Friday.

Emphasizing the importance of Smart Bangladesh, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Secretary Md. Shamsul Arefin said to the students, “The power of youth is the utmost power. The four pillars of Smart Bangladesh – Smart Citizen, Smart Society, Smart Economy and Smart Government – ​​should be understood and worked on continuously. If we can collect taxes properly, stay free from corruption, then our economy will be strong. This is how smart Bangladesh can be established.”

Maleka Akhter Banu, Secretary of Titumir College’s teachers’ council, said that students should come forward to transform Smart Bangladesh. They should keep pace with advanced technology.

As the main speaker of the event, Tanjiba Rahman, President of Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society said, ‘Job opportunities are being created in different places. Now your main task will be communication skills, business skills and having good knowledge about advanced technology. We need to be a good entrepreneur from being 100% confident in our self-reliance. Don’t just run after a job, you have to use your talent to do something new.’

The Chief Executive Officer of ULab Mohammad Shahadat Hossain; Iqbal Bahar, founder of Nijer Bolar Moto Golpo Foundation; Titumir College IT Society Advisor Md. Salauddin; writer and journalist Rahitul Islam; few members of Titumir College IT Society SM Billal Hossain, Noore Alam Siddique, Rezaul Karim, Zia Hasan, Imrazina, Minhajul Asif and many others were present at the event.
